Erasmus+

Erasmus + is a European Union program that supports the educational exchange

Erasmus + is the European Union’s program in the field of education, training, youth and sport. With the new financial perspective (2021-2027), the scope of Erasmus+ has been expanded, which has consequently become more innovative and inclusive, as well as more digital. It will also be of key importance for the creation of the European Education Area planned by 2025, thanks to which the European Union intends, inter alia, to ensure that all young people have access to education and training of the highest quality, enable learners to move easily between education systems in different countries and give them the opportunity to find work across Europe.

SGH Warsaw School of Economics has been awarded the 2021-2027 ECHE (European Charter for Higher Education) entitling it to apply for grants under all actions offered by the Erasmus+ program, that is:

  • learning mobility of students and staff (Action 1),
  • cooperation between organizations and institutions (Action 2) and
  • central actions.

Erasmus+ 2021 – 2027 for higher education: actions

Action 1: Mobility projects for Higher education students and staff

This action supports the physical and blended mobility of university students in all fields of study and study cycles (first, second and third-cycle studies and long-cycle studies). Students can study abroad at a partner university or do an internship in a company, research institute, laboratory, organization or other institution offering an internship. Students may combine the period of study abroad with an internship.

University faculty and non-faculty staff may participate in activities carried out abroad related to their professional development. These may be trips to conduct classes with students of a foreign university or trips to participate in training. The aim of the training must be to improve the competencies of the employee appropriate to his scope of duties at the sending institution. Polish universities may invite specialists from enterprises to conduct classes with their students.

Blended Intensive Programs are conducted in the so-called mixed formula (combining virtual part and physical mobility), which enable universities to offer their students interactive classes carried out in an international group.

Action 2: Cooperation Partnerships in the field of Higher Education for innovation and exchange of good practices

“Cooperation partnerships” in the Higher Education sector are international projects aimed at developing, transferring and implementing innovative practices and implementing joint initiatives promoting cooperation, peer-learning and exchange of experiences at the European level. The effect of this type of project should be primarily the modernization of the educational offer of the university, its better adaptation to the needs of society and the economy, and improvement of the quality of education. Results should be reusable, transferable, scalable and, if possible, have a strong interdisciplinary dimension.

Various types of organizations (universities and other institutions, organizations, enterprises) from Program Countries, and - if it is particularly justified - from partner countries from other parts of the world can participate in the project.

Only an organization from a Program Country can be an applicant. The applying institution is also the project coordinator. The minimum composition of a project consortium is three institutions from three different Program Countries. Participating HEIs from Program Countries must have an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). Cooperation partnerships in the higher education sector can last from 1 to 3 years (12 to 36 months).
