 MDDP with EBS Universitat fur Wirtschaft und Recht

 
The agreement on the establishment of the Master Double Diploma Programme between Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht (EBS) has been signed on 30th of January 2015. On the basis of this agreements students from SGH and EBS will be able to obtain diplomas of both universities on the major "Management".

The private EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Wiesbaden and Oestrich-Winkel was founded in 1971. The university's activities focus on 3 core areas: undergraduate, postgraduate programs and executive education. The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht has the right to award doctorate and habilitations.

 

 Programme structure

 

The intended period of study for the MDDP is two years (4 semesters). Double degree students will spend their first year at their "home institution", the second year at the "host institution".

Double degree students will have access to courses and enjoy the same rights and obligations and be subject to the same rules and regulations as the regular graduate students in the corresponding master study track of the “host institution”. They should have access at the “host institution” only for the parts of the study programme that will be carried out under the responsibility of the “host institution”.

Due to the regulations governing writing the master thesis at EBS both universities agreed that students will be writing their master theses at EBS which is worth 24 ECTS.
 

 OBLIGATIONS BY BOTH PARTIES

 

OBLIGATIONS BY AND FOR SGH

  • SGH students study their 1st year at SGH and their 2nd year at EBS.

  • In order to be awarded a master’s degree from SGH, SGH students have to provide proof of at least 4 weeks of internship/work placement during their 2nd degree studies. SGH students will be awarded 3 ECTS for the internship.

  • Required workload at SGH: courses (60 ECTS) during their 1st year at SGH.

OBLIGATIONS BY AND FOR EBS

  • EBS students study their 1st year at EBS and their 2nd year at SGH.

  • In order to be awarded a master’s degree from EBS, EBS students have to provide proof of at least 10 weeks of internship/work placement during or after their first degree studies to be enrolled to the programme. In addition EBS students will be awarded 9 ECTS for the mandatory internship within the programme.

  • EBS will provide German language courses at elementary and advanced levels to the exchange students.

  • Master Thesis at EBS (24 ECTS).

  • Required workload at EBS: courses (57 ECTS) during their 1st year at EBS.

 

 

 Selection and documents

 

The double degree candidates must satisfy all admission requirements of the host institution, including language proficiency requirements, GMAT (or internal EBS exam) and good knowledge on Bachelor level of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Statistics.

All double degree candidates must provide evidence of a satisfactory level of language proficiency according to the requirements of the Common European Framework (CEF):

  • students from SGH as their home institution – TOEFL (min. 100IBT)

  • students from EBS as their home institution – English B2 (or higher).

In order to be enrolled to the programme SGH students have to provide proof of at least 10 weeks internship/work placement during or after their first degree studies.

Selection dates for 2018:

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS – 18 September 2018 [Tuesday]

Documents should be submitted to Ms. Małgorzata Chromy during the office hours [please check updates on office hours: Annual leave: 13-26 August 2018; business leave: 10-14.09.2019], room 7, build. A.

In the week: 10-14.09.2018 documents can be delivered to Dr Izabela Bergel [room 7, build. A] within specified time slots:

  • Tuesday (11.09.) between 12.00 and 14.00

  • Thursday (12.09.) between 11.00 and 14.00

According to the Rules and Regulations of selection for international programmes and exchanges at SGH, all students accepted for double diploma programmes are not allowed to apply for any other exchange or programme that involves mobility abroad in the given academic year. It especially refers to Erasmus, PIM and bilateral exchanges and and international  programmes like CEMS MIM.

 

 Selection process

 

​Documents required from the SGH candidates to double diploma include:

  • Application form (filled in on computer) – please choose from drop-down lists relevant options concerning: Partner University, majors at each university, language proficiency, and additional certificates [if applicable]

  • Motivation letter addressed to Selection Commission to double degree programme between EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht and Warsaw School of Economics (in English, max. 1 page)

  • CV of the Applicant in the Europass format

  • GMAT certificate (min. 600 points) – in case candidate does not possess such certificate he/she can be conditionally accepted by the time of aquiring GMAT. It is also possible to take EBS exam treated as equivalent to GMAT (fee of 75EUR) - it can be taken at SGH under the supervision of SGH International Centre staff.

  • Copy of the BA diploma

  • Official course transcript or diploma supplement with grades received (in English)

  • Copy of TOEFL (min. 100IBT) certificate

  • First draft of the study programme (preferred field of study/study path, list of academic interests, etc.)
